- At the May 23, 2010 Event, Best Friends introduced "Chrissie Dogs." They are shelter and rescue dogs who are larger, older, or both; the most overlooked categories for adoption. They wore banadanas that read "I'm a Golden Oldie" or "Big Love" and were a highlight of the event. All were adopted or taken by rescue groups instead of being left in kill-shelters.
